Beijing. India has now become the most populous country in the world. In January this year, there was news of India overtaking China in terms of population, but now the United Nations has also confirmed this fact. According to the figures of the United Nations Population Fund, the population of India is currently 2.9 million more than that of China. However, it is not clear when India overtook China in terms of population. According to the report of the United Nations Population Fund, the world’s population has now exceeded 8 billion. The title of the Population Fund report is ‘Arab lives now, endless possibilities’.

According to the report of the United Nations, the population of India is now 1 billion 42 crore 86 lakh, while the population of China is now 1 billion 42 crore 57 lakh. In this way, there is a difference of 29 lakhs in the population of both the countries. Since 1950, the United Nations keeps population figures and this is the first time since then that India has overtaken China in terms of population. Anna Jefferies, media advisor to the United Nations Population Fund, said, ‘Yes, it is not clear when India has left China behind. Actually it is difficult to make a direct comparison between the two countries because there is a slight difference in the data collection of both the countries.

China’s population started declining, India’s pace maintained He said that it is clear from this report that the population level of China had reached its peak last year and now it has started declining. At the same time, the population of India is currently in the direction of increase. However, the growth rate of India’s population is on the decline since 1980. This means that the population of India is increasing, but its rate has now decreased as compared to earlier. The report states that 25 per cent of India’s population is between 0 and 14 years. Apart from this, 18 percent people are in the age group of 10 to 19 years.

China is living longer than Indians, women live longer At the same time, the number of people in the age group of 10 to 24 years is close to 26 percent. 68 percent of the population in the country is in the age group of 15 to 64 years. And the age of 7 percent people is more than 65 years. At the same time, the population of people above 65 years of age in China is 14 percent. The report states that the life expectancy of the people of China is better than that of India. The life expectancy of women in China is 82 years and that of men is 76 years. Apart from this, the average age of women in India is 74 years, while that of men is only 71 years.
