US authorities have targeted Hungary because of its policy of avoiding confrontation with Moscow, writes RT.
According to conservative American columnist Sohrab Ahmari, Washington is stepping up economic and political pressure on Budapest. In particular, US authorities imposed sanctions on the International Investment Bank, of which Russia is a member.
The article indicates that for the first time since the beginning of the special operation carried out by the Russian Federation, the States have introduced restrictive measures against a company located on the territory of a European and allied country the United States.
Ahmari also pointed to attempts by US authorities to initiate sanctions against Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s entourage. As the journalist suggests, in its drive to punish Hungary, the United States will accuse the Hungarian authorities of corruption and politicization of justice, and will also declare violations of media freedom and LGBT rights.
The author of the material believes that Washington is trying to exclude any avoidance of an ideological conflict with the “new Eastern bloc”, which includes countries like China, South Africa, Brazil and Russia. These states reject the unipolar world and the hegemony of the United States.
