On the occasion of the 78th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, employees of the Kaluga Sales Company contributed to the improvement of the territory of the military memorial located in the northern part of the Pyatnitsky cemetery of the city of Kaluga.
Employees of the departmental, Kaluga and Kaluga city branches of the company participated in the cleanup. They removed dry grass from the territory, swept the paths and prepared the borders for subsequent painting.
The military memorial, located at the Pyatnitskoye cemetery in Kaluga, is one of the most famous in the region. According to historians, no one knows the exact number of soldiers and civilians buried here. Here lie the soldiers of the First World War and those who died in the Great Patriotic War. The soldiers who defended Kaluga with their lives, the townspeople shot by the Nazis or died of cold, hunger and disease – thousands of people! The military memorial has been rebuilt several times. Now it is a single complex, conditionally divided into squares, on each of which there is a slanted commemorative plaque with the inscription “Eternal glory to the heroes”.
