UN Secretary-General António Guterres has called for a three-day truce in Sudan in honor of Eid al-Fitr. He made the corresponding statement on Thursday, April 20, addressing reporters.
“I demand that a truce be established for at least three days during the celebration of (the Muslim holiday) of Eid al-Fitr (Eid al-Fitr) so that people can leave the war zone and have access to medical care, food and basic necessities,” the UN secretary-general said.
Recall that on April 15, we learned that clashes had broken out in Sudan between the army and the rapid reaction forces (RRF). On the evening of the same day, 25 dead and 183 injured were reported as a result of the events unfolding in the country.
