Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke by phone with Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, the Kremlin press service reported. The topic of the conversation, which took place “in a friendly manner”, was the world situation and cooperation between Moscow and Riyadh within the framework of BRICS and OPEC+.
“A number of topical issues on the bilateral agenda were discussed with emphasis on developing mutually beneficial ties in the areas of trade, economy, investment and energy,” the Kremlin said.
The Heads of State welcomed the coordination of the work of OPEC+, which makes it possible to stabilize the world oil market. In addition, they touched on the issue of cooperation between Saudi Arabia and BRICS countries. We have agreed to intensify contacts in a number of specific areas.
Previously, OPEC+ countries agreed to cut oil production to balance the market ahead of the seasonal drop in demand.
