In this week’s column, she talks about the difficulty of apologizing.

Is it harder to apologize than to fuck off?

Is it harder to apologize than to fuck off?

I’ve discovered over the years that we humans have a hard time apologizing when we make a mistake. The same people are willing to stretch and bend far enough to show their regret in other ways, such as giving gifts, making fun of things, pretending nothing is happening and no one is admit nothing. Everything is to be forgotten and Pollyanna is often called upon!

What is it in us that causes this blockage in the speech bone when it comes to this simple four-syllable word? Shouldn’t be as simple, if not simpler to process this word compared to all the mistakes one has made and will make, because we are only human. For some, there is and will never be room for error as perfection is great, or the reverse!

Those times in the old days when I showed a rather unglamorous charm, somehow hurting people, I felt terrible. My low self-esteem had taken over and I inexplicably enjoyed dragging others along with me. It’s pretty miserable to be alone in your own mud. It’s not an old story or a new one, and of course it’s very predictable that there’s something wrong with you when you act like this. Luckily, you’ve learned and aren’t acting like a beast anymore, because you’ve gotten yourself into such trouble by being mean to others that it’s impossible to print.

But is it a free pass to forget everything? Certainly, some transgressions are more serious than others and require conversations, explanations, repentance, and even the courts must step in and decide the seriousness of the matter. Some people just don’t have the ability to understand what is hurtful, unknowingly hurt, and these are dangerous people that I avoid like the plague.

Practice saying sorry, it’s so good and healthy for the soul, but it also takes courage to forgive, and for example, I’m going to say goodbye to winter and forgive him for hurting a whole nation with cold snaps, bad weather and something you really don’t understand, actually I’m out of jam drops on my nose, but it’s coming back soon, about 6 months.
