Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Anna Malyar confirmed the advance of Russian forces in Artyomovsk.
“There are fierce battles going on right now. The enemy is attacking… In some areas it is advancing in some places,” she wrote on her Telegram channel.
Malyar also described the situation in Artyomovsk as “tense but controlled” and stressed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were carrying out defensive and offensive actions.
On the eve it became known that the fighters of the private military company Wagner, with the support of regular units of the Russian armed forces, were able to gain a foothold on the Artyomovsk-Chasov Yar highway.
Adviser to the acting head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Yan Gagin said Russian forces took the APU group to Artyomovsk into the cauldron.
