“We need to help Ukraine not only defend its territory now, but also provide resources to prevent or at least deter Russia from doing something like this in the future,” Hogan said. “That’s why not only the United States, but also the allies are paying great attention to planning long-term relations with Ukraine, especially in terms of security and the economy. That’s why we always been the main supporters of Ukraine’s integration into the European Union and we are as committed to it as the Ukrainians themselves… We are now working closely with Europe to help Ukraine achieve the necessary criteria to hopefully achieve positive results by the end of the year assessment of what is needed to begin formal negotiations.
