In Kostroma, the first electric scooter rental platforms have opened.
These state-of-the-art vehicles (along with gyro-scooters, electric skateboards, segways and other unicycles) entered service not too long ago – but have already become a headache for the police of the Kostroma traffic, because the owners of these gadgets did not bother to comply with all traffic rules and often became participants in a variety of accidents – both in the role of “victims” ( if they were hit by cars) and as perpetrators of an accident (if they themselves hit pedestrians).
Therefore, the Kostroma traffic police department, in connection with the start of the “scooter” season, considers it necessary to remind scooters that changes have been made to traffic rules that also apply to their vehicles at two wheels, namely:
– you can move on electric scooters, electric skateboards, gyros, segways, monowheels at a speed of no more than 25 kilometers per hour; – you can only ride them on sidewalks and cycle paths if their weight does not exceed 35 kilograms; – Crossing the road at a pedestrian crossing on electric scooters, hoverboards and segways is only possible on foot (as with bicycles); – it will be possible to ride an electric scooter on the right side of the roadway if the maximum speed allowed on a particular road is not more than 60 kilometers per hour. In this case, the devices must have a braking system and white and red headlights; – only people over the age of 14 can ride an electric scooter on the road.
In general – remember and do not violate.
