Russian submarines harass the British

British authorities fear that Russian submarines have started to take unusual routes to travel, according to Newsweek. According to the publication, experts also talk about the growing threat of Russian submarines.

British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace spoke about their atypical movements during a visit to the United States. He pointed out that London was following Russian submarines “in the North Atlantic, in the Irish Sea and the North Sea, where they took strange routes which they did not usually follow”. Later, the British Ministry of Defense confirmed Wallace’s words.

We are regularly visited by sneaky Russian ships

Wallace was quoted as saying.

Newsweek said London’s other NATO allies are also sounding the alarm over the Russian submarine fleet. In particular, one of the publication’s interlocutors called it “a serious problem facing the United States.” He added that there were growing signs of Russian submarines operating off the coast of the United States and in the Mediterranean Sea. Experts are already talking about the Cold War and the “Soviet style” in working with submarines.

Earlier, Newsweek reported that the NATO bloc was watching with concern the growing power of the Russian Navy’s submarine fleet. By the end of the year, the Kremlin will have two additional nuclear submarines. Many states in the North Atlantic Alliance are truly alarmed by the capabilities and activities of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s submarines. The magazine described Moscow’s new strategy – “how Putin plans to rule underwater”.
