Kolkata. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday said that some forces are trying to break the country but she will never allow the country to be divided.
Addressing the Eid-ul-Fitr prayer meeting at Indira Gandhi Sarabi, Ms. Banerjee called upon the people to remain united as some forces are trying to break the country. She said, I am ready to sacrifice my life, but I will not allow the partition of the country at any cost. He called upon the people to ensure the defeat of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in next year’s Lok Sabha elections.
Ruling out the implementation of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in the state, the chief minister said peace will prevail in West Bengal as people do not want riots. Ms Banerjee made a reference to central agencies like the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) probing several alleged scams in the state, saying she will not bow down at all and not only against the traitor party but also against the agencies Will continue his fight.
She said that she will protect democracy at any cost. If democracy is at stake, everything will be at stake. Calling for a fight against divisive forces, the Trinamool Congress president once again accused the ruling party at the Center of trying to change the country’s constitution.
