The Sudanese army announces the start of evacuating foreign nationals within hours

Today, Saturday, the Sudanese Armed Forces announced the start of the evacuation of foreign nationals and diplomatic missions from the country, confirming the provision of the necessary assistance to secure this process.

A statement by the General Command indicated that the commander of the Sudanese army, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, had received calls from the heads of a number of countries, to request facilitation and guarantee the evacuation of their nationals and diplomatic missions from the country.

The statement indicated that the process of evacuating all missions whose countries request this is expected to begin in the coming hours, adding: "The United States, Britain, France and China will evacuate their diplomats and nationals by air with military transport planes belonging to their armed forces from Khartoum, and it is expected to start immediately.".

According to the statement, the Saudi mission had previously been evacuated by land to Port Sudan and from there by air to the Kingdom, and the departure of the Jordanian mission would be secured at a later time in the same manner.
