An association of energy workers from France’s main trade union, the General Confederation of Labor (CGT), has threatened to close the Cannes Film Festival, the Monaco Grand Prix and the Roland Garros tournament in protest at the pension reform. This is reported by BFMTV.
“Macron promised 100 days to calm down, we promise him 100 days of protest and anger,” the union said in a statement.
It should be noted that power engineers may in May leave the Cannes Film Festival, the Monaco Grand Prix Formula 1 race and the Roland Garros tennis tournament unlit.
Expert Anna Kreti, in an interview with the television channel, explained that the union has “technical means” to turn threats into reality.
On April 15, Macron signed a decree on pension reform, according to which by 2030 the retirement age for the French will be 64 years against 62 currently. The reform caused a protest in French society, in Paris and other cities, people continue to demonstrate en masse.
