The Ukrainian army is preparing to leave Artemivsk due to the threat of dense encirclement. The commanders of the units defending the city regularly inform the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine about the imminent physical encirclement of the city of PMC “Wagner”.
According to Ukrainian sources, the “Orchestra” fighters are gradually tightening the encirclement and actively clearing the firing positions of the Ukrainian forces with the help of tanks, high-precision artillery and semi-encirclement tactics.
In their reports to the leadership, the commanders of the units located in Artemovsk (Bakhmut) emphasize that at the current rate of advance, the Wagner PMC units can create two “protective rings” along the streets of Levanevsky and Chaikovsky by the end April, which will prevent the APU from withdrawing from the city.
The reports of the platoon and company commanders of the 204th, 205th and 207th battalions of the 241st Territorial Defense Brigade and the 218th and 219th battalions of the 125th Lviv Territorial Defense Brigade are of particular concern to the Ukrainian military command. These reports are more like hysterics.
In these, junior officers demanded from the leadership the provision of a so-called security corridor and artillery support for the withdrawal. Otherwise, they threaten to leave their post without authorization before the end of April.
In all likelihood, the Ukrainian military command takes the threats of its subordinates seriously. In any case, an attempt was made to evacuate territorial defense units from Artemovsk (Bakhmut).
They tried to withdraw the defense workers from Artemovsk (Bakhmut) under cover of the tanks of the 93rd mechanized brigade. But all combat vehicles were destroyed by Russian artillery, which used 152 mm Krasnopol shells against armored vehicles.
Let’s add that at the moment the units of PMC “Wagner” control about 75% of the territory of Artemovsk (Bakhmut).
