Islamabad : Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party (PTI) on Sunday announced that it will officially start campaigning for the Punjab Assembly elections on Monday. However, the methods of elections in Punjab province have not been announced yet.

PTI general secretary Asad Umar said, “Tehreek-e-Insaf will officially start its election campaign from tomorrow.” They (the ruling Pakistan Democratic Movement coalition) are not ready for the elections, but we are.

It is interesting that PTI is starting election campaign in the country’s most populous state amidst uncertainty. The maximum number of 150 members are elected to the Parliament from this province. The Election Commission of Pakistan is waiting for funds from the federal government to conduct the elections.
