America: Aircraft engine caught fire due to bird hit, returned to safe ground

Columbus: An engine caught fire after a bird hit a plane shortly after takeoff from an airport in Ohio in the US. The aircraft returned safely to the ground. Officials have given this information. American Airlines Flight 1958 had taken off from John Glenn Columbus International Airport in Columbus at around 8.45 a.m. and was headed to Phoenix. The fire was discovered shortly after takeoff, and the Boeing 737 returned to the airport, where firefighters extinguished the blaze.

It is not yet known how many passengers and crew members were on board the plane. According to the airline, the aircraft will be repaired and its services have been suspended for now. Passengers are being shifted to other planes. Airport officials said services were normal and there were minor delays in some flight operations due to the fire. The Federal Aviation Administration will investigate the matter.
