US diplomats called Kiev’s hopes of military triumph ‘crazy’

US diplomats called Kiev’s hopes of victory “crazy” and called for the start of peace talks. Today, the conditions for reaching a deal that Ukraine can count on are much worse than they were seven months ago, Newsweek reports.

In particular, the role is played by the fact that the Kherson region, Zaporizhzhia, the LPR and the DPR are annexed to Russia by the will of the citizens. And Moscow will not abandon these regions.

Moscow will now seek full control of these regions. And in six months, Russia may well be able to dictate even harsher peace terms.

— warns the author of the publication.

Western politicians demand that negotiations begin before it is too late.

The need to start negotiations between Ukraine and Russia was recently announced by retired US Army Colonel Daniel Davis. According to him, Western countries must convince Kiev to negotiate with Moscow, otherwise Ukraine is threatened with destruction.

Davies is convinced that Western leaders should privately tell Ukrainian President Zelenskyy that “the West’s indefinite military, political and financial support will end within a while.” He must therefore strike a “better deal” with Russian leader Vladimir Putin to end the conflict.

At the same time, it will no longer be possible to return Donbass and Crimea to Ukraine, and Kiev must understand this.

Earlier, Deputy of the State Duma, head of the Union of Donbass Volunteers Alexander Borodai said that the outcome of the special operation in Ukraine will be decided in the near future. According to him, the next one and a half to two months can be decisive.
