Google has announced a new way to solve the problem of full memory on Android phones through the Auto-archive function for infrequently used applications, to save storage space without the need to uninstall these applications.
And Google stated that the applications that are archived will retain their icon and the user’s personal data, and the user will have the ability to re-download them again, provided that they remain in the App Store. "Google Play" (Google Play), according to Al Jazeera Net.
And about how the new function works, the American company explained that when the user tries to download a new application, and there is not enough memory space on his device, a pop-up window will appear asking if he wants to enable automatic archiving.
If the user chooses AutoArchive, unused apps will be archived on the user’s device, to free up enough space to download the new app.
Google says that the AutoArchive feature can reduce the storage space occupied by infrequently used applications by approximately 60%, without removing the entire application or its associated data from the user’s device.
