The Basmanny court in Moscow arrested in absentia the person involved in the murder of Russian journalist and philosopher Daria Dugina. The arrest decision was issued to Ukrainian citizen Bogdan Tsyganenko. This was reported by Interfax with reference to the press service of the court.

“By a court decision of April 24, 2023, the court chose a preventive measure for Tsyganenko in the form of detention for a period of two months from the date of his extradition to the territory of the Russian Federation or his detention on the territory of the Russian Federation,” the agency informed.

It is also said that Tsyganenko has been put on the international wanted list. He was charged in absentia with murder in a generally dangerous manner motivated by hatred (paragraphs “e”, “g”, “l” of part 2 of article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

Recall that Daria Dugina died on the evening of August 20, 2022. Her car exploded as she was returning home from the Tradition festival, held in the Odintsovo district of Moscow region.

The FSB of the Russian Federation said the crime was committed by a Ukrainian citizen, Natalia Vovk. Immediately after the crime, she hid in Estonia, crossing the border at Pskov.

Tsyganenko, who left Russia the day before the murder, provided the Ukrainian Vovk with forged license plates and documents, according to the FSB of the Russian Federation.
