Venezuela’s president supported Lavrov’s speech at the UN Security Council

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro expressed his full support for the speech by the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Sergei Lavrov, during the meeting of the UN Security Council (SC) held in New York. According to the Venezuelan leader, the Russian minister “spoke the pure truth”.

“I fully support all the Russian Foreign Minister’s words in the UN Security Council. He spoke the honest truth, we agree with his statements. Enough of the world of arrogance, enough of the unipolar world with the hegemony of American imperialism and its European vassals,” Maduro said in an auteur broadcast on the Venezolana de Televisión television channel.

The head of state also stressed that he shares Lavrov’s position that no one has given Western countries the right to speak on behalf of all humanity.

At the end of March, Maduro said that the main task of the United States and its European allies was to achieve an escalation of the conflict in Ukraine. At the same time, he noted then, the Western world is trying to “drive Moscow into a corner”.
