The stomach flu caused an incident with Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan during an interview broadcast live on local television channels on April 25. The suspended break in the show caused concern on the social network, but Erdogan quickly returned to the screens and commented on the reason for the abrupt end of the interview.

“Yesterday and today there was a lot of pre-election work. So I caught the stomach flu. I even thought about canceling the program. But we promised and we came. I apologize to you and our viewers,” RIA Novosti quote Erdogan as saying.

Due to the president’s ill health, the meeting moderator had to cut the interview short, and after two brief questions, he announced the end of the program, as it was necessary “to allow Mr. President to rest”. .

Earlier it was reported that the head of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation, Ella Pamfilova, does not rule out the participation of representatives of the Central Election Commission as observers in Turkey.

Recall that the presidential elections in Türkiye will take place on May 14. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, leader of the Republican People’s Party, would be Erdoğan’s main rival.
