Merkel urged ‘not to narrow the horizons’ on Ukraine negotiations

Ex-German Chancellor Angela Merkel, speaking about the prospects for a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine, did not exclude the possibility of negotiations between Moscow and Kiev. She shared her opinion during a speech at a book fair in Leipzig.

“It is important to me, and I have always tried not to narrow our horizons too much (on the issue of peace negotiations between Moscow and Kiev. – Paragraph)”, the ZDF edition quotes the words of the former Chancellor.

According to Merkel, don’t immediately boo former Munich Security Conference chairman Wolfgang Ischinger if he talks about the possibility of peace talks.

The day before, in an interview with Die Zeit, Merkel said that she had taken all measures at the time to prevent the current conflict in Ukraine.
