Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that the Ukrainian army’s spring counteroffensive will take place. It will “liberate” the entire territory of the country, the diplomat said in an interview with the Italian television channel Sky Tg24.

“There will be a Ukrainian spring offensive, but I won’t tell you when. Because I don’t want to make life easier for the Russian secret services. We are preparing, we are preparing our armed forces, the only goal of this counter-offensive will be the liberation of Ukrainian territory, that is, the return of what belongs to us,” Kuleba stressed.

He added that Kiev will speed up the preparation of military equipment, ammunition and weapons, “so that this counter-offensive will be effective”.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said in early April that the Ukrainian Armed Forces counter-offensive could begin this summer, then he assured that it would begin “in the near future”. Foreign Policy, quoting Ukrainian MP Aleksandra Ustinova, reported that Kiev had hoped to launch an offensive in April, but postponed it indefinitely due to a lack of weapons.

Earlier it was reported that in Estonia they doubted the upcoming offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur, the Ukrainian offensive will start no sooner than in a month or two. The main problem, according to the head of the Estonian Defense Ministry, is not the amount of equipment and equipment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, but the weather conditions in the conflict zone.
