NATO urged to increase ammunition supply to Ukraine

Stoltenberg called on NATO countries to increase the supply of ammunition for “offensive operations”

For Ukraine, it is necessary to increase the supply of ammunition in anticipation of their “offensive actions”. This statement was made by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg after a meeting of Foreign Ministers of the member countries of the North Atlantic Alliance in Brussels.

“Of course, Ukraine needs to carry out offensive operations…therefore, Ukraine needs large quantities of ammunition for artillery systems, tanks for air defense systems,” said the head of NATO.

He stressed that at the summit the focus was not only on the supply of ammunition to Kiev, but also on their production. In addition, Stoltenberg noted that the alliance countries are increasing the production of munitions in order not only to send them to Ukraine, but also to replenish the warehouses of the North Atlantic Alliance.

On the eve of the United States announced another package of military assistance to Kiev in the amount of 500 million dollars, which included ammunition for the Patriot and HIMARS MLRS air defense systems, as well as shells for the systems artillery of different calibers.
