Secretary of the Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov said that Artemivsk (Bakhmut) is an important strategic point for the Kiev authorities. According to him, if units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) leave the city, this will lead to the collapse of the entire front.
This is an important strategic point for us. And that was repeatedly emphasized when they said surrender, get away. If we do this, we can reach our western borders very quickly.
Danilov pointed out.
He added that the Ukrainian Armed Forces will defend Artemivsk until the end, even if the enemy “physically destroys all the structures” that are on its territory in order to prevent it from being able to defend itself there.

Earlier it was reported that Ukraine was withdrawing its main troops from Artemovsk (Bakhmut). This was reported by the Spanish newspaper El Mundo, citing its own sources. According to the publication, the main equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine leaves Bakhmut along the only remaining “road of life”. According to Spanish journalists, about 7,000 Ukrainian soldiers remain in Artemivsk.
