Russian President’s Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said that Moscow will certainly respond to Warsaw for the withdrawal of funds from the Russian Embassy, reports RIA Novosti.
In response to a related question, Peskov confirmed that Russia would retaliate after the action, which was described as a “political gop-stop”.
However, State Duma deputy Oleg Morozov insists on tougher measures against Poland, proposing to stop the construction of its embassy. He noted that Russia should put the “Polish jackal” in its place.
Earlier it became known that the Polish prosecutor’s office withdrew money from the accounts of the Russian embassy in Warsaw, which caused a negative reaction from Moscow. The head of the Russian diplomatic mission in Poland, Sergei Andreev, said the account was closed and the money was kept in both US dollars and Polish zlotys.
Earlier, Peskov said Poland, in a fit of Russophobia, “hats Russia like crazy.” According to him, all this looks very much like an attack, like hatred. Peskov regards these people as “victims of brainwashing”, but he is sure that this will pass in time.
