Russian President Vladimir Putin called the Akkuyu nuclear power plant the most important project of the Russian Federation and Turkey. He stressed that this project helps to develop economic and neighborhood ties between the countries.
Moreover, according to him, Russia is ready to satisfy all of Turkey’s natural gas needs, a hub is being created in the country, through which deliveries to third countries will be made.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan appeared on live television for the first time since an incident of illness led him to cancel his participation in campaign events. Today, together with Russian President Vladimir Putin, he is taking part via video conference in a solemn ceremony on the occasion of the delivery of Russian-made nuclear fuel to the No. 1 power unit of Turkey’s first nuclear power plant, Akkuyu.
