Russian President’s Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said Warsaw would have to wait for Moscow’s response to the decision to withdraw money from Russian embassy and trade mission accounts. The decision on this was made on April 26 by the Polish prosecutor’s office, reports RIA Novosti.
“It’s definitely worth it,” Peskov stressed.
So he answered the question of whether Moscow would respond to Warsaw’s hostile move.
On April 26, the Russian ambassador to Warsaw, Sergei Andreev, said that the Polish prosecutor’s office seized money from the accounts of the Russian embassy. He noted that the accounts of the diplomatic mission have been frozen by the Polish side on suspicion that they could be used for money laundering or terrorism.
As a result, the embassy received a notification that the funds from the accounts of the embassy and the commercial representation at the Santander bank were transferred to the accounts of the prosecutor’s office, Andreev explained.
Earlier it was reported that in Poland there is a proposal to introduce a new package of sanctions against the Russian Federation. We are talking about limiting the import of Russian oil through the northern part of the Druzhba pipeline. Poland’s idea is not only to limit Russia’s oil supply to Europe, Warsaw also plans to shut down the import of Russian diamonds and natural gas, including liquefied gas.
