Karachi: At least seven people, including three children and a woman, were killed when a coach of an express passenger train caught fire in Pakistan’s Sindh province. An official gave this information on Thursday. He told that last night a fire broke out in the business class compartment of Karachi-Express going from Karachi to Lahore. Railway spokesperson Maqsood Kundi said efforts were on to ascertain how the coach caught fire. The coach was detached from the train after the fire broke out, he added.

Kundi said that ‘seven people including three children died in this incident. A woman also lost her life in this incident. The Railway Ministry has ordered a high-level inquiry into it. ”He said that as soon as the fire was reported, the train was stopped at the nearest station and the fire department was informed for emergency action. He said that fire tenders reached the spot at around 1.50 am and the fire was brought under control in 40 minutes.
