US-India relationship most important relationship of this century: Top US diplomat

Washington: A top diplomat of US President Joe Biden’s administration has said that the US-India relationship is one of the most important relations of this century, in which Indian-Americans have an important role to play. Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resource Affairs Rich Verma made the statement at the India-US summit organized by Congressional India Caucus co-chairman Ro Khanna. Verma said that “US-India relations have had their ups and downs, but in fact the relationship has improved over the past 23 years despite some challenges…”

Verma (54) believes that the US-India relationship is the most important relationship of this century due to India’s geo-strategic position surrounded by countries with complex conditions. He said, ‘This is the most important relationship of this century. Why? (First) India is situated in an important geo-strategic region surrounded by countries with complex conditions.. Second, India is going to lead the world in every category in the next few years. Populous country, World’s largest middle class population, Largest number of college graduates, Largest number of Internet users, Third largest economy, Third largest military, Largest democracy in the world, Most developed and industrialized today There is happening and there is migration of people from rural areas of India to cities.

He said, ‘This is a dynamic country. When you go there, you will be able to feel it. There is no doubt that the US wants to remain India’s closest partner and is moving in that direction. India is playing a big leadership role in the world, it is chairing the G20, which is a very important responsibility. There is a connection between people.

He said, ‘You know, where the people are, where the businesses are, where the students are, where the innovators are, the governments are behind them. So, we should continue to support all those people who want to come here.’ Verma said, ‘We should support all our means. This is why the work that all of you are doing is so important. We are the two most important countries in the world, we are the two largest democracies in the world and we cannot forget that. ‘Governments will play their part,’ he said, ‘but remember what really makes this relationship great. . These are the great people of India and these are the great people of America, who have a deep connection with each other.
