An Egyptian pharmacist was killed while performing his work in a pharmacy in the Asir region in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with a gunshot wound.

The Ministry of Immigration and Affairs of Egyptians Abroad commented on the incident, stressing that it is following up investigations through its consulate.

This came in a statement by the Egyptian Ministry, which it published on its official Facebook page, in which it said: "The Ministry of State for Immigration and Affairs of Egyptians Abroad offered its sincere condolences to the family of the deceased pharmacist, Muhammad Faisal, who was killed yesterday while performing his work in the Al-Amwa region in Asir Governorate, Saudi Arabia, and also directed condolences to the Pharmacists Syndicate.".

Ambassador Suha Gendy, Minister of Immigration, said that the Egyptian Consulate delegates a delegate to attend the investigations with the Saudi authorities and take legal measures, such as emptying cameras, hearing witness testimony, and completing the course of investigations to identify the perpetrator, noting her confidence in legal procedures and that the investigation authorities in the Kingdom have taken all necessary measures.".

Ambassador Suha Jundi pointed out that "As soon as the investigation authorities allow, the completion of the transfer of the body to Egypt and the full dues of the deceased will be followed up."

Mustafa Faisal, the pharmacist’s brother, said: "One of his colleagues and an employee from the Egyptian embassy in Saudi Arabia called me and informed me that he had been shot while working, and that he had been taken to the hospital and died there."
