The Planning and Statistics Authority, in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), organized a workshop in which all United Nations funds, programs and agencies operating in the State of Qatar participated, on integrating the 2030 Sustainable Development Plan into the third national development strategy, on Monday and Tuesday, at the agency’s headquarters in the Gulf. western. UN entities attending the workshop included the United Nations Development Programme, UNICEF, the International Labor Organization, UNESCO, the International Organization for Migration, UNHCR, the United Nations Office on Parliamentary Participation, and the UN Analysis and Communication Center on Children and Armed Conflict in Doha. In his opening speech, His Excellency Mohammed Abdulaziz Al Nuaimi, Assistant President of the Planning and Statistics Authority, indicated that “this workshop aims to define a framework through which the goals and objectives of the 2030 Sustainable Development Plan can be integrated into the third national development strategy in line with Qatar National Vision 2030. He said Dr. Peplov Chowdhury, UNDP Technical Representative and Head of Office in Qatar, said, “The consultative workshop provides a valuable and appropriate opportunity to ensure that the aspirations of the Sustainable Development Goals are well captured and integrated into Qatar’s Third National Development Strategy.” UNDP Qatar has brought in prominent technical experts, such as Dr. Gonzalo Pizarro, Mr. Javier Blanco, and Ms. Alexandra Fawzi, from the UNDP Global Policy Network in Amman to provide guidance and technical analysis.
