Humnabad (Karnataka). Targeting the party over Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge’s “poisonous snake” remark, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said the Congress and its leaders have so far insulted him 91 times in different ways.

Accusing the Congress of insulting the Ligayat community in Karnataka as well, Modi said the party had also abused Babasaheb Ambedkar and Veer Savarkar. The Prime Minister, who is on his first campaign tour to the state since the election schedule was announced on March 29, hit out at the Congress, saying people will respond to its abuses with votes and they (Congress leaders) will join hands with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). ) But the more mud you throw, the more the lotus will bloom.

Modi said, “The Congress hates anyone who talks about the common man, exposes their (Congress) corruption and attacks their politics of selfishness. The Congress’s hatred against such people deepens. Even in this election, the Congress has once again started abusing me.

Addressing a public meeting at Humnabad in Bidar district, the Prime Minister said, “Somebody made a list of such abuses being used against me and sent it to me. So far, Congress people have abused me 91 times in different ways. Had the Congress instead of wasting time on this dictionary of abuses, focused on good governance and boosting the morale of its workers, it would not have been in such a pathetic condition.

It is noteworthy that while addressing an election rally in Karnataka, Kharge on Thursday compared Prime Minister Modi to a poisonous snake. However, after a controversy erupted, he clarified that his remarks were not against the Prime Minister, but against the ruling BJP. Modi said, “The Congress has a history of insulting the poor and those who work for the country. I am not the only one who has been attacked like this.

In the last election they ran ‘Chowkidar chor hai’ campaign, then they said ‘Modi chor’, then they said ‘OBC community is chor’ and now as election campaign started in Karnataka they started calling my ligayat brothers and sisters thieves. Has shown courage. “He said,” Congress leaders listen with open ears, whenever you have abused someone, they (voters) have punished you in such a way that you could not bear it. This time the people of Karnataka have decided to respond to the abuses and damage to their pride through votes.

Modi said that top Congress leaders have abused him. He said that Congress is such a party, which even abused Babasaheb Ambedkar. The Prime Minister said, “Babasaheb Ambedkar himself once said that the Congress repeatedly abused him. Congress had called Babasaheb Ambedkar ‘demon’, ‘traitor’, ‘traitor friend’… You will be surprised to hear. Even today we see how Congress abuses Veer Savarkar. The Congress has abused the veteran leaders of this country.

Modi said, “Looking at this, I feel that the Congress respects me, as it did Babasaheb Ambedkar and Veer Savarkar, because the Congress abuses me in the same way. I consider it as a gift to me. Let the Congress use abusive words for me, I will continue to work for the country and its people. With your blessings, all their bad words will turn to dust. Congress people should understand that the more mud you throw at us, the more the lotus will bloom.” Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and Union Minister Bhagwant Khuba were also present on the occasion.
