As noted by Lavrov, the new global centers, mainly in Eurasia, the Asia-Pacific region (APR), the Middle East, Africa and Latin America, relying on the independence, sovereignty of the State and cultural and civilizational identity are experiencing impressive success in various fields. . According to the Russian Foreign Minister, these centers are guided by their basic national interests and pursue an independent policy in internal and external affairs.
The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry also said that the renewal of the infrastructure of international relations continues before our eyes. At the same time, “a striking example of multipolar diplomacy is the activity of new-type multilateral associations such as the SCO and BRICS.”
“Within their framework, countries with different political and economic systems, with distinct values ​​and civilizational platforms effectively cooperate in various fields,” Lavrov explained.
He also noted that the Russian Federation remains at the forefront of international efforts aimed at strengthening the multipolar, legal and democratic principles of interstate communication.
“To this end, we will continue to work actively on the UN platform, including the Group of Friends in defense of the UN Charter,” Lavrov said.
The Russian Foreign Minister also stressed that Russia intends to continue “to closely coordinate measures with many friends, allies and like-minded people, including those of the CSTO, the EAEU, CIS, BRICS, SCO and other regional associations in the developing world.
Recall that on Saturday, a world conference on multipolarity is being held online. As stated on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, more than 120 experts from more than 60 countries of the world will join the event with the participation of the International Movement of Russophiles (MDR). The conference allows politicians, public figures, journalists and eminent representatives of other spheres who advocate democratic relations between countries to declare their support for multipolarity in the world.
