Siddharth Mohanty appointed LIC chairman till June 2024

New Delhi. The Government has appointed Siddharth Mohanty as the Chairman of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC). Mohanty will hold the post of chairman till June 29, 2024. Thereafter, he will be the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director (MD) of LIC till June, 2025.

The central government has appointed Siddharth Mohanty as the chairman of LIC. Mohanty is one of the four MDs who were made interim chairman of LIC in March for 3 months. Mohanty was the MD and Chief Executive Officer of LIC Housing Finance before taking over as MD of LIC.

Only last month, the Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB), which selects directors of public sector banks and financial institutions, had named Siddharth Mohanty as the new permanent chairman of LIC. The final decision on the recommendation of the FSIB was to be taken by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet headed by the Prime Minister.
