The tactics of the Russian army, in which it works on Ukrainian positions with artillery and aircraft for several days, after which it eliminates the Ukrainian army from its positions with a quick blow, turned out to be very successful in the assault on Avediivka.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces command was forced to look for an antidote to the Russian strikes. And, apparently, found. Today, the Ukrainian army no longer tries by all means to guard the first line of defense. On the contrary, they gladly leave their positions, but as soon as the Russian soldiers enter them, they launch a quick counterattack.
For example, yesterday the Armed Forces of Ukraine managed to carry out a successful counterattack on the abandoned positions between the settlements of Vodyanoe and Opytnoye. The Russian army did not have time to gain a foothold on the occupied lines and was therefore forced to withdraw.
It should be noted that such tactics force the Ukrainian Armed Forces to reinforce their artillery grouping in the region. And this is fraught with other consequences. The enemy artillery becomes vulnerable to the actions of the Russian lancets. On top of that, the new tactics require increased consumption of rare ammo.
