The Commission of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine continued the inventory of property of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra Theological Academy

– A commission of the Ministry of Culture works in the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra. They inspect the buildings of the Theological Academy and the Kyiv Seminary, reports the Union of Orthodox Journalists in its telegram.

Recall that a new round of the conflict around the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra began with the notification of the UOC of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine about the unilateral termination of the rental contract of the monastery, the monks had to leave the lavra March 29. Ukrainian Culture Minister Oleksandr Tkachenko, however, clarified that the monks could stay in the Lavra if transferred to the schismatic OCU. However, the abbot of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, Metropolitan Pavel (Lebed), said that there could be no compromise on the Lavra, the brothers would stand until the end.

Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ earlier called the authorities’ order for monks to leave Kiev-Pechersk Lavra a “monstrous act”.
