On Saturday night at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, Kim Kardashian did what millions of Ariana Grande fans do at every stop of the Eternal Sunshine Tour: she filmed, she sang, she swooned. The difference was that she had 360 million Instagram followers watching when she posted.

“My baby @arianagrande,” Kardashian captioned a performance clip on her Instagram Stories, adding a pink heart. The post spread quickly across social media — not only because of Kardashian’s reach, but because of the particular emotional geometry of two women calling each other “baby” when Pete Davidson was, at some earlier point, a bridge between them both. TMZ was first to report on Kardashian’s attendance at the sold-out LA show, confirming she arrived with former assistant Stephanie Shepherd and linked up with actress Emma Roberts inside the arena.

The Pete Davidson thread

Grande and Davidson were engaged in June 2018, four months after they began dating. They ended the engagement by October of that same year. Three years later, Davidson and Kardashian went public in October 2021, following Kardashian’s divorce filing from Kanye West, and dated until August 2022. They appeared together at that year’s Met Gala. In an episode of The Kardashians, Kardashian described Davidson warmly: “Pete has the best heart. He’s just the sweetest, most thoughtful person.” Saturday’s concert was not the first public gesture of warmth between Kardashian and Grande, but it was the most visible — two women who both once dated the same person, publicly claiming each other years later, in the front section of a sold-out arena.

A night out for two collaborators

Kardashian and Roberts weren’t just there as fans. The two are currently co-executive producing Calabasas, a YA drama ordered by Netflix from Bridgerton creator Chris Van Dusen, making them close professional partners this year as well as concert companions. As Deadline reported when Netflix greenlit Calabasas, the show is set at an elite private school in the city that made the Kardashians famous. The Crypto.com Arena outing — filmed in their matching all-black outfits as they sang along to “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)” — was a case of a professional relationship playing out as something that looked more like friendship. They were also seated near Joan Grande, Ariana’s mother, suggesting the evening had at least some advance coordination.

The Eternal Sunshine Tour in Los Angeles

Grande’s Eternal Sunshine Tour opened June 6 in Oakland and plays Crypto.com Arena through June 15 before moving to the East Coast and eventually Europe. Variety’s review of the Oakland opening praised Grande’s vocal performance, describing a show that runs 105 minutes across 23 songs and “emphasizes singing first, and dancing second” — a production designed around the voice rather than spectacle. The Los Angeles dates are among the highest-demand stops on the North American leg.

Grande’s career has been in a sustained upward arc through 2026. As The Eastern Herald reported on the Ariana Grande Foundation’s expanded philanthropic programming, she has used her platform for giving back alongside the tour. Meanwhile, Grande’s personal life has been closely followed this year, making the warmth between her and Kardashian on Saturday night a notable offstage moment. The Eternal Sunshine album, released in 2024, has become one of the most-streamed records of the streaming era — which explains why Kardashian, Roberts, and an arena full of fans in Los Angeles were mouthing every word on Saturday night. The Eternal Sunshine Tour continues through September 2026.
