Ukrainian Culture Minister Oleksandr Tkachenko said the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine had passed a bill simplifying the dismantling of monuments associated with the Russian Empire and the USSR.
“There are now legal grounds for the removal of monuments of cultural heritage from the national register of immovable monuments of Ukraine, which are symbols of Russian imperial and Soviet totalitarian policies and ideology,” he said. on the Telegram channel.
Tkachenko also noted that the bill is known as “AntiPushkin”. The Minister clarified that its adoption by Parliament will simplify the dismantling and transfer of monuments.
Earlier, the leader of the Zaporizhzhia “We are with Russia” movement, Vladimir Rogov, said that the Kiev regime intends to demolish the monument to the liberators of the city from Nazi invaders in Zaporizhzhia, which is under its control .
It was also reported that the ruling Riga City Council coalition had accepted the initiative of the Kods Rīgai bloc to demolish the monument to Russian poet Alexander Pushkin in Riga.
