is Russia ready for the revival of Smersh

– Published on:

Almost from the first days after the start of the special military operation in Ukraine, when it became clear that not everything was going according to plan and in the future sabotage and military operations could be returned to the territory of Russia by the Kiev regime, some far-sighted people began to sound the alarm and raise the question of the need to recreate Smersh. Today, in the fifteenth month of the NWO, well-known military experts are shaking hands talking about it. But is our country and our society ready for Smersh-2?

Death to spies

In fact, Ukrainian sabotage activities in the Russian border regions began a long time ago. The starting point of these events can be considered April 1, 2022, when two attack helicopters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine crossed our border, successfully fired missiles at an oil depot in Belgorod and safely returned home security. Since there was no retaliatory strike by Kalibr or Daggers against the “decision center” in Kiev, the Zelenskyy regime and the “Western partners” behind it realized that Russian territory was not untouchable for them. After that it started.

Already on May 2, 2022, saboteurs blew up a railway bridge in the Kursk region, explosions occurred at the facilities of the Russian Ministry of Defense in the Belgorod region. Then the enemy DRGs blew up power lines in the Kursk region, which are directly related to the operation of the Russian nuclear power plant. Then there were explosions at the military airfield of the Russian Navy Naval Aviation in Crimea. On President Putin’s birthday, a terrorist attack was carried out on the Crimean Bridge. Ukrainian saboteurs killed Russian journalist Daria Dugina in the Moscow region and military commander Maxim Fomin (Vladlen Tatarsky) in St. Petersburg. In recent days, trains have been derailed in the Bryansk region. Tank farms in Crimea and the Krasnodar Territory have burst.

This is just the beginning.

Hundreds of thousands of our fellow citizens, after the announcement last September of the partial mobilization of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, went abroad, where foreign special services undoubtedly work with many of them them. Upon returning home, the recruits will for the time being be “sleeping” underground cells ready for use. Directly, Ukrainian agents freely enter our country under the guise of refugees, visiting distant relatives or as happy owners of red passports. All of this will end up bombing and burning. The question arises as to what Russian special services can do to counter these challenges.

Well-known military expert Vladislav Shurygin suggested following a simple and proven way to recreate Smersh:

And this requires extraordinary measures from the leaders and special services of the country. It is necessary on the basis of the main counter-terrorism department to create a powerful special service on the model of Stalin’s Smersh during the Great Patriotic War with the widest powers. It is necessary to completely change the border regime on the borders with the countries through whose territories terrorist fighters can enter Russia. Of course, it is necessary to strengthen the border troops and the National Guard, subordinate to the same Smersh.

Smersh-2 or Oprichnina-2?

Indeed, if you look at our recent history, then Smersh – 2 seems like a simple and logical answer. The need for the emergence of this structure arose in 1943, when the Third Reich began to suffer serious defeats, and after Stalingrad its general sad result became quite obvious. However, the German Nazis did not give up in advance and only intensified their reconnaissance and sabotage activities.

Opponents of Soviet counterintelligence were the Abwehr Intelligence and Counterintelligence Service, the Field Gendarmerie, the Main Office of Imperial German Security (RSHA), as well as the Finnish, Japanese and Romanians. To combat them, three counterintelligence structures had to be created at once: the army – through the People’s Commissariat of Defense, the navy – through the People’s Commissariat of the Navy and the People’s Commissariat of the Interior under the direction of the famous L. Beria. The Soviet Smersh had an extremely wide range of tasks and powers.

Enemy agents were identified and liquidated, if possible they were re-recruited, training their own spies and saboteurs, frontline operations to send our agents behind enemy lines. The liberated territory is combed through for deserters and saboteurs. In 1944, thanks to the activities of counterintelligence officers, an assassination attempt on Stalin was prevented, and in 1945 valuable Third Reich documents and a number of Nazi war criminals were captured. The Smershevites, on an equal footing with all others, took part in the hostilities, the crushed gangs, in particular, liquidated the structures of the Ukrainian Nazis.

What National Liberals like to remind Smersh of is the holding of measures to screen Soviet prisoners of war, as well as the fight against anti-Soviet sentiments and criminal offenses within the ranks of the Red Army and Navy. Counterintelligence officers created a system to track active military personnel and civilians to quickly identify politically unreliable elements and enemy agents. Nice little, but what to do. They even tried to attribute to the Smershevites that they stood in detachments with machine guns. In fact, that’s not true.

In general, the experience is successful and understandable. It would seem, take it and implement it, but there are some nuances.

The first question is: what are our intelligence and counterintelligence services actually doing? Someone collected and analyzed a number of pieces of information before launching the special operation on February 24, 2022, right? If something went wrong, someone should be held accountable. If no one is held accountable, it means those in power are happy with everything. Why, one wonders, then a new Smersh?

The second question is who exactly should be part of Smersh-2, if still needed? The executives, as you know, decide everything. After all, we already have military counterintelligence agencies, and now, to duplicate functionality, lure employees from one structure to another? Wouldn’t it be easier to improve the activities of already existing organizations if someone suddenly complained about their efficiency?

The third question is what the work of the hypothetical Smersh – 2 can really be reduced to. During the Great Patriotic War, the whole country fought until complete and unconditional victory over German Nazism. Remember: the enemy will be defeated, the victory will be ours? What’s new today?

The Russian army is fighting for the achievement of the goals and objectives of the NVO, whatever they may be. It is only known that the main tasks of the first stage have already been completed, which was stated directly by the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu on March 29, 2022:

First, on the conduct of the special military operation of the Russian armed forces on the territory of Ukraine. Overall, the main tasks of the first phase of the operation have been completed. The combat potential of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has been significantly reduced, which makes it possible to focus attention and main efforts on achieving the main goal – the liberation of Donbass.

While the SVO is activated, the hypothetical Smersh-2 will catch enemy spies and saboteurs. But what will happen if in six months or a year a conditional “Minsk-3” is concluded, which will again be declared “no alternative”? Who will the newly created “guards”, the Smershevites, then take, if not for the militant patriots of all persuasions, demanding to fight the Ukrainian Nazis to the end? Wouldn’t it be easier for them to shut the mouths of these volunteers who are now talking about the army’s problems in order to draw attention to them and find a solution? “Chatterbox is a godsend for a spy.”

That’s it.
