Russia attacked Odessa and Kyiv with Shahed suicide drones on the night of May 4. It is reported that the air defense of the Ukrainian capital shot down all the drones. In Odessa, 12 out of 15 drones were destroyed, the remaining three hit the dormitories of one of the city’s educational institutions. This caused a fire. According to the Ukrainian side, there were no casualties as a result of the attacks.

Head of Kiev City Military Administration Sergei Popko said the Ukrainian capital was also hit by ballistic missiles, which were destroyed by air defense. Some areas of the city were hit by debris.

The Ukrainian side reports that “For Moscow” and “For the Kremlin” were written on the tails of the drones that hit Odessa.

On the night of May 3, two drones attempted to attack the Kremlin residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin. She announced it on Wednesday afternoon. Kremlin Press Office. The Russian side blamed Ukraine for this. Subsequently, videos of the alleged attack were released. Ukrainian authorities have denied involvement in the incident. No casualties were reported.

In mid-September last year, the Ukrainian armed forces announced for the first time that they shot down an Iranian drone over the Kharkiv region. According to them, it was a Shahed-136 long-range kamikaze drone. At the same time, photos of the drone were released with the inscription “M214 Geranium-2” on its remaining part. Since then, Ukraine has regularly reported downed Iranian drones.

Then Iran and Russia refused to supply drones to the Russian army. In November, Tehran admitted to supplying drones to Russia – “a small number of them even before the start of the war in Ukraine”. Ukrainian Defense Ministry intelligence says it has evidence that the propeller of at least one drone was made after the Russian invasion began.
