Time has come to bulldoze Kejriwal’s Sheeshmahal: BJP

– Published on:

New Delhi. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has termed Aam Aadmi Party chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal as a morally double-faced character and corrupt by breaking the law and said that the time has come to bulldoze his ‘Sheeshmahal’.

Senior BJP leader and Union Minister of State Meenakshi Lekhi said this at a press conference at the party’s central office here today. When asked about Mr. Kejriwal’s comment on the removal of the dharna by Delhi BJP workers protesting the alleged police crackdown on wrestlers who were protesting at Jantar Mantar, Mrs. Lekhi said, “Whose own house has been demolished. Yes, what will they remove the BJP.

The BJP leader said that when the issue of corruption and the account of Rs 45 crore spent on his Sheeshmahal is asked, he starts talking here and there. Doesn’t answer straight questions. Is it not a scam to avoid the provisions of high level permission by dividing the case of Rs 45 crore into pieces. Now the time has not come to remove the BJP workers from the dharna but to bulldoze Mr. Kejriwal’s Sheeshmahal.

Earlier, Mrs. Lekhi said, “One is moral hypocrisy and the other is violation of law… On one hand Kejriwal ji had said that I will lead a very simple life and will not take anything but he has built 7-star facilities for himself.” He said that at a time when Delhi was passing through the stress of Covid, they were demanding things for which they had no arrangement or willingness to manage.

In particular, there were no proper facilities where oxygen could be stored or distributed. Many people died because they diverted the private supply chain. Even at that unfortunate time, the illegal construction work of his ‘Sheesh Mahal’ was going on. He said that Mr Kejriwal spent Rs 45 crore at a time when every single rupee was needed to be saved. He did not take any permission from the Delhi Urban Art Commission (DUAC) to get such a huge work done in the housing in Civil Lines, a heritage area of Delhi, which is a mandatory rule. Similarly, no tender worth Rs 45 crore was floated. If all this is not a scam then what is.

The BJP leader said, “This whole party is like this…they never give straight answers to the questions that are asked to them. People should be informed that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in its charge sheet has written the name of Sanjay Singh at three places and Sanjay Singh at one place instead of Rahul Singh. It was a typographical error on the part of ED for which he sought permission for correction while he lied that ED has apologised.

He said, “Kejriwal has not left even a single channel to loot people’s money. There is a rule that the Finance Department’s consent is required in case the cost of furniture/decoration exceeds a certain value, but Kejriwal evaded doing so and ‘looted the country by creating a farce of cleverness’. At the same time, he has also made several illegal attempts to interfere in the e-tendering process, favoring the contractor and carrying out the luxurious construction activities of his grand house.
