Experts advise… Communication platforms are “toxins” to be avoided

May 5, 2023

Doctors advise taking a break from social media platforms or “Social Media Detox”.. What are the risks of using these platforms daily and how can a person take a break from them? And can we really break away from the social media platforms that have become an integral part of our daily lives?

Questions that are difficult to answer given the role played by communication platforms, because they make us one of the most interconnected generations, and a way to discover talents and a way to follow the news and listen to the lives of celebrities.

Experts say people who spend more than three hours a day on social media are at risk of developing anxiety and depression, and advise taking a break, or the so-called “Social Media Detox”.

The first step is to detoxify social media and identify what drives people to overuse it…which experts say is key to developing a master plan to reduce temptation on these platforms.

Experts also advise adopting a daily routine, which is full of activities that don’t require the use of the phone.

Additionally, it is recommended to temporarily wipe out social media apps to allow the person to spend more time connected to the life around them and research alternative things to social media.

Experts believe that temporarily erasing communication apps has many benefits in an effort to disengage or reconnect the individual to these platforms.

And consciousness and psychological development researcher Suha Al-Khamaiseh said in an interview with Sabah Sky News Arabia:

A “digital soum” is an accurate name for social networking sites if we accidentally use them. Social media platforms are a place to give something you have, not to receive time control for those who don’t have content they add to the platforms, a search they don’t start or finish not their day looking at the phone. Whether you’re a content creator or not, don’t spend more than an hour. If you like a topic, start researching it the right way. If your goal is to develop your skills, start following people who are achieving great results, because once you communicate with a person, you have created an energy field that will affect you consciously or unconsciously.
