Citizens of foreign origin can be mobilized for the NVO: MPs discuss “Tajik battalions”

Mikhail Matveev, a member of the State Duma, presented plans to pass amendments that would allow the mobilization of people who received Russian citizenship.

Matveev said statistics revealed a startling figure: “In the first quarter of this year alone, 45,000 natives of Tajikistan received Russian citizenship”, and asked the question: “If so many come in Russia to get citizenship, why don’t we see them up front? In response, he offered to send “Tajik battalions” to the combat zone.

Deputy Matveev. Photo from Telegram channel “Commentary by Mikhail Matveev” It is wrong to replace thousands of immigrants from Russia with hundreds of thousands of Asians while they are still dying in battles for their homeland! I am for friendship between peoples and fair rights for citizens, whatever their nationality. But, in reality, not to the detriment of Russia and its people. Why are they not mobilized? Where are the Tajik soldiers? …. we need warriors, so why not offer them citizenship? Mikhail Matveev MP found out that natives of Tajikistan are not taken into the armed forces, allegedly due to dual citizenship.

It turns out that there are privileges: family allowances, maternity capital, benefits, pensions of Russian citizenship, but there are no obligations, in particular military service, for people who have received citizenship of the Russian Federation. This is precisely the kind of coexistence enjoyed by many Central Asians. Very convenient Mikhail Matveev It is urgent to go to the front, guys! Said the deputy in his telegram channel. The representative of the State Duma was upset that the army of those who receive citizenship in his country voluntarily enlists in the taxi driver regiments, janitor and builder divisions, but does not participate not at SVO.

MP Matveev, who was elected to the State Duma in 2021, expressed the view that dual citizenship should be banned or the mobilization rights of citizens should be adjusted.

Earlier, at the end of 2022, Matveev submitted a bill to the State Duma to exclude Russians with university degrees from conscription. As a result, a number of sanctions are currently in place against him from Ukraine, the United States and EU countries. In addition, Deputy of the State Duma from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Mikhail Matveev was surprised by duplicitous voters during the vote on electronic military registration.
