Viacheslav Volodin, quoted on the chamber’s website, stressed the importance of the president’s visit taking place on the eve of the holiday: “It was the fraternal family of the peoples of the Union the Soviet Union, the shoulder of the other – the Kyrgyz, the Russians, the Ukrainians, the Belarusians, the Kazakhs and other peoples – who made Victory possible in 1945”.
“Our great-grandfathers, our grandfathers gave their lives for the good of their families, of the country, so we must be honest with them and do everything so that they are not forgotten, so that their memory is protected,” said the Chairman of the State Duma.
He recalled that there are attacks on the common history of Russia and Kyrgyzstan. “And your decision to visit the Rzhev Memorial, participation in the holy holiday on May 9, indicates that it is in good hands,” Volodin added.
Sadyr Japarov also stressed the importance of preserving the memory of the feat of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War. He also recalled the importance for the republic of the Russian language, which is official for him. “As president and guarantor of human rights and freedoms, I strongly oppose any attempt to manipulate this issue. The Russian language has been with us and always will be. It is enshrined in the Constitution” , underlined the Head of State.
Volodin also invited Sadyr Japarov during his next visit to speak at the State Duma.
The Chairman of the State Duma and the President of the Kyrgyz Republic today took part in the unveiling of the monument to Kyrgyz soldiers who died in the Great Patriotic War.
“The land of Rzhev is saturated with the blood of the peoples of the Soviet Union – Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan and other peoples of our great country. More than one million 300 thousand citizens of the Soviet Union have were killed for this from 1941 to 1943,” Vyacheslav said at the opening of the Volodin memorial.
“Only the country that respects history and honors traditions has a future. Only the country that remembers its heroes has a future,” the speaker stressed.
