Artificial intelligence… the new destination of education

May 8, 2023

The World Economic Forum has estimated that these technologies can redirect 20-30% of a teacher’s time to activities that support the learning process, rather than wasting energy imparting knowledge to students, as is the case in traditional education.

On the other hand, AI saves time for the teacher as it performs some administrative tasks on their behalf, and thus AI gives more time for the teacher to build relationships with the students.

In this regard, the report indicates that professors spend less than half of their working hours in direct interaction with students, highlighting the need to ensure the integrity of artificial intelligence tools before their introduction into the learning process. in order to avoid any bias in the latter. tools that can negatively affect students, their teachers, and the learning process as a whole.

In this context, education expert Dr Muhammad Khalil Musa said:

Artificial intelligence is a tool at the service of education, it should not lead to scientific theft. The time saving guaranteed by the AI is very important. Artificial intelligence is more effective in the humanities than in the applied sciences. It must be recognized that there is no place for traditional methods in education today, and the teacher must be convinced that artificial intelligence has been found to help him and strengthen his role.
