Right now the people of Pakistan are shouting on the streets that they want flour for roti, not Kashmir. The people of Pakistan are also demanding that their government should talk to India and get food items. China needed to do something to end Pakistan’s hunger but it raised an issue which has now been declared dead by the United Nations itself. This is the reason why China wants to keep Pakistan trapped in debt trap. When China says that its friendship with Pakistan is higher than mountains and deeper than seas, it means that emotional exploitation can be done against India.
The question is, does China not know who violated the UN resolution on the Kashmir issue? China knows that according to the UN resolution, Pakistan had to withdraw its army from Ghulam Kashmir and the vote division was to be held under the supervision of the Indian Army. But Pakistan rejected the proposal by saying that if its army withdraws once, then again India will throw it out there forever. China also knows that it has also suppressed a lot of territory in Kashmir and whenever there is a division, it will also have to become a bridgehead and vacate the occupied Kashmir territory. That’s why the futility of this demand of China is well known.
In fact, on the one hand China fools Pakistan, on the other hand it teases India as well. China understands that neither all the permanent members of the United Nations will agree on the Kashmir issue nor will the matter move forward. He also knows very well that now nothing is going to happen to Kashmir, which is part of India, whatever has to happen, it has to happen only to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. When it comes to international politics and diplomacy, no country except Pakistan, China and India takes an anti-India stand on the Kashmir issue against India. China’s compulsion is that if Pakistan leaves the Kashmir issue, then its chances of coming closer to India may increase, while it is in China’s interest that the tension between India and Pakistan continues. These days India is trying to become a permanent member of the United Nations. China is doing this propaganda against India that the country which shows thumbs up to the proposals by the United Nations, how will it respect the permanent membership of the world’s highest institution! The bottom line is that China has added melody to Pakistan’s Kashmir melody only to please Pakistan and irritate India.
