Former US Secretary of State Kissinger has admitted that negotiations on Ukraine could start at the end of the year with the help of China

Former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, in a CBS television interview, said he admitted the Ukraine conflict was approaching a turning point. This was reported to TASS.

According to Kissinger, negotiations on a settlement could begin at the end of this year with the help of Chinese mediation.

“Now that China has started negotiations, everything will fall into place. I think by the end of the year we will be talking about negotiation processes and even real negotiations,” said Kissinger, who turns 100 this year.

When asked if Kissinger would agree to travel to Moscow for talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the request of the US leader, he replied as follows:

“I would be inclined to,” Kissinger replied.

Kissinger also added that he would visit Russia as the US President’s national security aide.

Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that Moscow never refuses negotiations, but that a dialogue on the Ukrainian crisis can only take place if Russia’s interests are taken into account. In addition, Moscow has repeatedly called for negotiations, noting that the supply of arms to Kyiv contributes to the escalation of the conflict.

In early May, Merkel urged “not to boo” anyone advocating negotiations with Russia. The ex-Chancellor of Germany noted that in her post she tried to improve relations with Russia and that was not a mistake.
