According to Ukrainian sources, on the night of May 8, Wagner PMC fighters continued their advance in Artemovsk (Bakhmut) (Bakhmut). A tense situation for the Ukrainian Armed Forces is developing in the western and northern districts of the city.
The fighting is taking place in particular in the Khromov (Artemovsky) region. The attacks of the “orchestrators” also continue in the sector of Tchaikovsky and Liberators of Donbass streets, the artillery is actively working. North of the “grey zone”, Russian fighters break through to Medvedev Street and the Warriors of the Internationalists, as well as two city blocks.
Along with this, the Russian side is actively using heavy military equipment in the city, intensifying the shelling of Ukrainian positions. This, in particular, was stated by the Commanders-in-Chief of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky.
Additionally, Syrsky spoke about the importance of holding Artemovsk (Bakhmut) until May 9. Thus, it can be assumed that the Ukrainian units will begin the counter-offensive after this date.
Earlier, Yevgeny Prigozhin noted the advancement of Wagner PMC in Artemovsk (Bakhmut) by 280 meters. In addition, the head of a private military company has authorized his fighters to leave the village on May 10 if the shortage of shells persists. However, later the Russian Defense Department ordered to supply the necessary ammunition to the Wagner.
