Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Turkmen leader Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the 78th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Such a message was published on Tuesday May 9 by the Russian-language government newspaper “Neutral Turkmenistan”.
“The shining memory of those who, with their courage at the front, their selfless work at the rear, crushed the Nazi invaders and saved humanity from the ‘brown plague’ > will live forever in our hearts,” the message quotes of the Russian leader the publication.
According to the publication, the Russian president pointed out that good traditions of brotherhood and support were born between the two countries many years ago. He expressed hope that relations between Russia and Turkmenistan will continue to develop in this vein of close partnership and mutual assistance.
The President of the Russian Federation also asked his Turkmen colleague to personally convey his congratulations to all veterans of the Great Patriotic War who are currently living in this country. Vladimir Putin wished the fighters good health, courage and long life.
Earlier it became known that the leaders of the CIS countries, who arrived in Moscow to participate in the celebration of Victory Day, together with Russian President Vladimir Putin, will see a parade in Red Square. To do this, everyone will be placed on the podium, said the press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov. This will be followed by a traditional flower laying ceremony followed by an informal breakfast.
